THE HAPPY PEAR – Twin brothers Steve and Dave Flynn are The Happy Pear. Lifestyle gurus based in Ireland who share their love for healthy living through recipes, daily blogging, workshops, podcasts and great social media posting. One of my personal biggest influences on this list for how to make healthy living easy as well as affordable. They post daily about their usually cold early morning group dips off the Ireland Coast that now attracts tens, sometimes hundreds of participants. Definitely check these boys out!
WIM HOF – Primarily based on intense breath work, cold plunges and mental fortitude, “The Ice Man” Wim Hof will take you to levels of physical, mental and emotional expansion you never knew existed. I have been using his breathing techniques for many years now (more than his cold plunges 🥶) and it has made a huge impact on my life. From his website: “Put in the simplest of terms, the Wim Hof Method® is a way to keep your body and mind in its optimal natural state.” Enough YouTube videos to take you down an epic rabbit-hole that may just change your life.
RICH ROLL – For me, it all started with Rich Roll’s book “Finding Ultra” that takes you through Rich’s personal battle with alcohol addiction, overworking in his high-performance legal career and an overall unhealthy lifestyle that was completely un-rooted by changing the way he ate and moved in extreme ways. Rich became one of the worlds leading healthy-eating plant-based gurus as well as an accomplished multi-sport athlete, competing in some of the world’s most difficult sporting events, namely the Ultra-Iron Man triathlon(You wouldn’t believe me if I told you what this feat entailed, so you’ve got to read it). His free Rich Roll Podcast is where I suggest you begin if the book isn’t available to you. Rich does an amazing job of interviewing some of the world’s most fascinating individuals who all have something amazing to learn from that may just change, or even save, your life.
THE KOREAN VEGAN – Joanne Molinaro, a.k.a The Korean Vegan, has appeared all over the modern-day media with her incredible approach to “veganizing” traditional Korean foods as well as being a huge advocate for human, woman, POC, LGBTQ and animal rights that she started sharing through her amazing instagram account, facebook page as well as her awesome blog. I absolutely love her approach to how she incorporates stories and anecdotes along with her superb recipes, usually referencing a very personal moment in her life. One of my favorite recipes of hers is the incredible Kimchi Chigae soup that is currently one of my favorite foods to make (and eat).
